FUNDRAISING

Every view carries equal weight, not just the loudest. Whether we like it or not, gathering those views; garnering support for our local campaigns; and telling the electorate about our myriad successes doesn’t come cheap. I survey in excess of 30,000 households every year, encouraging the use of online returns where possible but being careful not to disenfranchise anybody.

As an association, Workington is now regularly in the top 10% in the country for data collection, but that needs significant financial input. Working with an excellent association team, I’ve made Workington one of the best funded associations in the country. In the last parliamentary session, I worked hard to secure in excess of £70,000 in donations. In this session, I’ve raised in excess of £82,000. We’ve built an admin team second to none, and both urban & rural volunteer delivery networks across the constituency.

The party that tells the most people, most often, about its achievements and goals, stands the most chance of winning. Working with those volunteer delivery networks, with our councillors, and with your help, I will ensure that continues. This year, we won a council seat in Workington that we haven’t held before. I will ensure that we continue to win elections.

Alongside that, I’m determined to leave a legacy. I’ve worked with private donors to secure over £300,000 in charitable donations that have gone straight to vulnerable individuals through local groups. But I’m determined to go further – I’m talking with partners to create my own local charity, ensuring we see all the benefit locally. Across the constituency I will deliver real, tangible change.
